Task Description
We know that because it was not compliant the (then) current IVI-Extension was not used in the early releases of GDP from around the Genivi 7 era. As the result of that work the then maintainers WRS reported (at the Stuttgart AMM?) some of the limitations they found working on the HMI. Some that come to mind are:
1. Integration of Qt applications (should be dealt with in separate sub-task ticket).
2. Synchronisation problems between the HMI and IVI-Extension that required manual workarounds.
3. Not using the latest IVI-Extension (added to complete list)
Do we need to assign time to look into 2 and 3 or have they been addressed? Regarding 3, Jonathan has added support for the latest Weston 1.9.0 reference implementation of IVI-Extension support in GDP to allow it to be used in the Hands On. That work was done to a deadline. It needs input from Jonathan but does he feel he had to limit himself to changes to allow it to work, i.e. is more time needed to revisit the architecture to take advantage of new features in IVI-Extension?
