    Description

On the Chromium branch the old Browser POC (which is based on QtWebKit) was decided to be removed in favor of the Chromium browser. At this time not all official hardwares are supported with Chromium however.

This ticket should track the removal of Browser-POC, even if it might take a while.

      It is currently blocked by:

      • Chromium feature branch needs to support official hardware, and/or we reconsider what is official hardware
      • Chromium branch to be merged to master

The strategy for compiling Qt, we include of course what is needed by the current demo apps, but also include most of standard Qt modules, since this is a development platform where any apps might want to use it.

It might however be beneficial to drop QtWebKit from that list because of its size, long compilation time, etc. In later Qt versions it also seems a bit deprecated in favor of QtWebEngine based on Chrome (although we do not control this and things could change again).

      (This naturally removes qtwebkit.bbappend also)

      Acceptance Criteria

      • Old Browser POC dropped from GDP Master (and Chromium merged)
      • QtWebKit is masked from compilation and inclusion in the platform
      • Tested on official hardwares, etc. as usual
